It’s with an incredible unhappiness that we advise the passing of our buddy and colleague, Technical Official Barrie Cox who handed away peacefully this morning.
Barrie was a big supporter of Athletics in North Queensland, and will likely be remembered by so many athletes, technical officers and members of our sport. For a few years Barrie has performed an enormous function in organising athletics competitions and dealing tirelessly within the Technical (Gear Shed), sharing his information with the broader neighborhood. Many North Queenslanders would keep in mind Barrie because the “tech shed on wheels”, supplying beneficial gear and experience to competitions throughout North Queensland and past.
He was welcoming to all, having fun with many laughs on and off the observe, and making fond reminiscences with so many to cherish.
Our ideas are together with his household and plenty of mates at this unhappy time.
