VIRAC, Catanduanes—The stays of Cardinal Jose Thomas Sanchez, the fifth Filipino cardinal, lastly arrived in his hometown in Catanduanes province on Thursday, March 16, a day earlier than his reinterment on the Diocese of Virac.
The MV Regina ferry boat arrived with Cardinal Sanchez’s stays on the port of San Andres city at round 4:50 p.m. Monks from the Diocese of Virac, together with Bishop Antonio Tobias and a bunch of sisters from the Diocese of Novaliches, accompanied the late cardinal’s stays going to Catanduanes.
The stays of Sanchez was exhumed from the crypt of Novaliches Cathedral in Quezon Metropolis on Wednesday (March 15).
