BACOLOD CITY — A fireplace on Saturday evening displaced not less than 201 people or 63 households in a densely populated space in Purok Tangkong, Barangay 7, on this metropolis.
The Mayor’s Workplace reported that 38 homes had been destroyed and two others had been broken.
Chief Inspector Stephen Jardeleza, Bacolod Hearth Marshal, mentioned the hearth began from the home of Frederico Lumayno, who was cooking his meals on a butane range.
Lumayno admitted that he forgot that he was cooking and left to go to a wake, Jardeleza added.
He began cooking at previous 7 p.m. and the Bureau of Hearth Safety obtained the hearth name at 9:48 p.m., Jardeleza mentioned.
The homes within the squatter space had been made of sunshine supplies and the hearth unfold swiftly.
“Firefighters had issue placing out the blaze due to the slender pathway,” Jardaleza mentioned.
